Lunch Meeting

TOPIC: Madison Police Department, Police Drone Program, Expenditure and Budget Discussion

SPEAKER: Lieutenant Mike Hanson, Patrol Operations, Madison Police Department

REGISTRATION:  11:30 a.m. LUNCH: 11:45 a.m.

COST:  $6 for Members, $12 for Non-Members

PLACE:  Babe’s Restaurant, 5614 Schroeder Road, Madison,  Wisconsin 53711

MENU: Meals are served with house cut pub fries and include soda, coffee, or tea.

  •  Cheeseburger with cheddar cheese
  • Grilled chicken breast on a toasted Brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and side of mayo
  • Club sandwich – three layers of whole wheat toast with ham, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo

ABOUT THIS MONTH’S SPEAKER

Lieutenant Mike Hanson

Mike Hanson is a Patrol Operations Lieutenant with the Madison Police Department.  Throughout his 16 years of service, he has had various positions including neighborhood Officer, Public Information Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Training Sergeant and Commander of the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS).  The UAS program began in early 2017 as Mike built the team with a wide range of teammate talent.  Mike has an undergraduate degree in Public Relations and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management.

Welcome to the 2018 Southern Wisconsin Association of Government Accountants program year!

We have lunch meetings scheduled for September and October. We will be filling in some audio conference dates to increase the number of CPE we can offer. We are using the feedback from the May training event to search out topics and speakers that were included in the comments. If you have any ideas that you have seen recently, please feel free to contact Education Chair Mary Laufenberg at [email protected].

We are looking at some community service events that have a social component so people can get to know their government accountability peers. If you have ideas that would work for small groups, please send them in.

Take a look at the calendar of events and see what sessions you might be able to attend. We look forward to seeing you over the program year!

President’s Message – April 2017

Hello everybody:

We have a great luncheon scheduled at Babe’s Restaurant on April 13th with a speaker from Borakove/Osman, LLC, Attorney Shayna Borakove speaking about family estate planning Also don’t forget about our 40th Annual AGA Symposium scheduled at the Union South Building on May 10th. We have a great group of speakers for you this year.
