President’s Message – March 2026

Happy CGFM Month!!!! If you are thinking about this certification, there are some upcoming webinars about the path to certification and strategies for CGFM candidate success. Also, if you order the on-line CGFM study guides by March 31, it is 25% off!!!!

It is membership and CGFM renewal time…Auto-renewals will process around March 17. Please consider all the value included in the membership fee as you are renewing. The value you get in free CPE from AGA National brings in more value than the $100 renewal. They have updated/streamlined the My AGA area. Please take a moment to verify your email address! This is the primary way National Office and the chapter reach you. If you use your work email address, consider adding a secondary email address with your personal email. As a note for people who joined during the year—the fee at joining was a part year amount and this billing will put you on the annual cycle.

Our friends at the AGA Central Ohio Chapter reached out and asked about partnering on an event. They have set up a GASB 103 implementation session for Tuesday, April 7, 1:00 CT Please see the registration information on page 3 of the Monthly Footnotes. Free for AGA members!!!!

Don’t miss out—FREE national events coming up soon

We are very close to completing the agenda for the Annual Symposium on May 13. I think you will find this to be an interesting day. We hope to have the website updated and information sent out by the middle of next week. For now, Save the Date! The cost will remain at $55 for members and $110 for non-members.

Did you know?
AGA has on-demand CPE training courses for low rates! These are available to members and non-members and there is a variety of topics.

Hello AGA Chapter!

AGA Southern Wisconsin has a lot of things in motion. Most notable is that the Spring Symposium schedule is nearly finalized and the registration information will be available soon. We are working on setting up some chapter webinars and will be starting to use Conferences I/O for attendance tracking, Q&A during the session, and CPE certificates.

AGA National has some upcoming events that are free for members

  • AGA Members only webinar March 12 1.5 CPE
  • Performance Counts Summit May 13 4.0 CPE
  • AGA Members only webinar May 14 1.5 CPE

Go to www.agacgfm.org for details and to register.

It is membership renewal season! All memberships expire on March 31. In past years, AGA National has let these hold off until April for late renewals, but they will be doing a firm cut-off this year. Keep this in mind if you want to register for any of the May members only sessions! This year they will only be sending renewal invoices by email. You can pay on-line and have the option to select “auto renewal.” They are also adding a way to indicate you would like to get text message updates from them; over 700 people have opted in over the past month.

If you have been thinking about the CGFM certification, be sure to check out the great specials in February. When you submit your application, you will get the bonus item noted on the specials calendar (see page 5 for more information). This would be a great kick-start to enhance your career path.
